I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has received professional training in conducting immigration evaluations, has years of clinical experience with mental health assessments, and speaks Spanish.
Studies have shown that clinical mental health evaluations for immigration cases can make a big difference in court (as demonstrated in this study). A mental health evaluation with a licensed mental health professional can help document the effects of trauma and abuse you have experienced, or the psychological effects and anticipated hardship you might experience if a loved one or your entire family was forced to relocate to another country.
A immigration evaluation includes the following:
Two assessment appointments (in-person or online video sessions), each lasting approx 1 to 1.5 hours. This is the time for me to learn important parts of your story and assess for mental health symptoms.
A thorough report of the assessment, usually between 12-15 pages. You can expect to receive the report within approximately 3 weeks of our second assessment appointment.
Communication between myself and your attorney as needed
I can provide psychological evaluations for the following types of immigration cases:
Extreme Hardship Waivers
Asylum
VAWA
U Visa
T Visa
Cost
The cost of an immigration evaluation (including assessment appointments, written report, and contact with attorney as needed) is $1250.
An additional $300 fee may apply for a quick turn-around time (less than 3 weeks), if I need to appear in court, or if a language interpreter is necessary.
