Individual Therapy for Adults
“Wanderer, there is no path;
the path is made by walking.”
~Antonio Machado
Does life have you feeling turned around, unsure of what direction to head next?
Maybe the path in front of you used to seem so clear, and now that path looks overgrown and uncertain. You might feel confused, worried, fearful, lonely, sad, or like your world has suddenly turned upside down. Maybe you're also noticing negative impacts on your physical health and your relationships with others.
The above quote by the Spanish poet, Antonio Machado, is one of my favorites. I’d like to suggest that maybe the concept of wandering isn’t all bad, and maybe wandering doesn't necessarily mean you're lost. Perhaps wandering is simply a way to help you reorient yourself in life. Individual therapy can help with this process.
I support adults as they go through many situations, including:
Life adjustments and transitions (such as graduation from high school and transition to adulthood, moving, immigration, career changes, break-ups)
Death grief (loved ones, pets)
Non-death grief and loss (loss of friendships/significant relationships, loss of opportunities, loss of health, grief associated with singleness not by choice)
Symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic, stress, burnout
Processing traumatic or difficult life events
Concerns about possible overuse or misuse of alcohol, marijuana, or other substances
Improving communication and boundaries with others
Processing difficult emotions and increasing self-acceptance
