Has your lawyer recommended you receive a clinical evaluation for your immigration case?

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has received professional training in conducting immigration evaluations, has years of clinical experience with mental health assessments, and speaks Spanish.

Studies have shown that clinical mental health evaluations for immigration cases can make a big difference in court (as demonstrated in this study).

A mental health evaluation with a licensed mental health professional can help document the effects of trauma and abuse you have experienced, or the psychological effects and anticipated hardship you might experience if a loved one or your entire family was forced to relocate to another country.

A psychosocial immigration evaluation includes the following:

  • One or two assessment appointments (in-person or online video sessions), for a total of 2.5-3 hours of assessment.  This is the time for me to learn important parts of your story and assess for mental health symptoms.

  • A thorough report of the assessment, ranging from approximately 12-20 pages.  You can expect to receive the report within 3 weeks of our second assessment appointment.

  • Communication between myself and your attorney as needed
